Our very own eyewear brand
We created Atelier78 because we believed that our opticians could help create a line of eyewear that was completely connected to the communities we serve. After all, they spend their days looking at faces and understand the importance of a perfect fit.
And our Atelier78 collection does just that: it brings quality-crafted, optician-conceived eyewear to our clients at an accessible, all-inclusive price.
But our collection also quickly became became one of the philosophical cornerstones of Doyle. It has given us the freedom to create a genuinely unique product development process, grow ethical supply chain relationships, design locally, give back charitably and explore environmental innovations around the product.
We bring quality-crafted, optician-conceived eyewear to our clients at an accessible, all-inclusive price.
The frames
Optician-conceived, optician-fitted, optician-approved eyewear.
Our opticians look at faces all day long, and it is their mission to craft perfectly-fitted eyewear for each and every one those faces. That’s the starting point for every Atelier78 frame.
Our opticians then discuss the types of frames their clients need with our team of local designers, who then draw up the collection.
Once the prototypes are complete, they are immediately brought back to the optician team to adjust for fit and function. After the Atelier78 collection is produced, it is put back into the hands of the very people who conceived it - our opticians.
Manufacturing
We take manufacturing personally.
Eyewear production is a hyper-specialized field and we constantly source the very best from around the world.
Our quest for quality has led us from Italy to Asia, where we visited every factory we work with to ensure working conditions and practices are ethical and up to code.
The design
Local creative talent
Since 2019, we have worked exclusively with local designers to craft our collection.
We wanted to keep as much of our collection’s development as close to home as possible, and close to the people we serve. We are proud to support, and benefit from, the incredibly talented local design scene in Québec.
Sustainability
Environmental innovations
When it comes to the health of our communities, we have to consider our impact. That’s why we have been working to create environmentally sustainable eyewear options.
By developing eyewear in bio-acetate, a renewable material, we are providing better options for our conscientious customers. And we are just getting started.
Like so many businesses, we need to do better and we need to do more.
Atelier78 was born of a desire to serve the communities we are in better, with hyper-relevant products.
